The novel is owned by the author - Sylvia Plath. The summary of course I took from Google. The Bell Jar details the life of Esther Greenwood, a college student who dreams of becoming a poet. She is selected for a month-long summer internship as a guest editor of Ladies' Day magazine, but her time in New York City is unfulfilling as she struggles with issues of identity and societal norms. I would like to remind you that this is a summary chapter. Please read the novel for the details.

A little piece of grief. I lost my best friend, my soul mate, my mom. I think we try to do things to make up for all the time we spend without the ones we love and lose. Drinking tea, going for massages. These are all ways and means to cope instead of just facing the fact that we are completely lost without the ones we love. We have to learn how to build up the person inside us and learn how to live without them. We have to learn to live alone. I think this journey happens at different times in our lives for all of us, and it's a terrifying one. Grief is heartbreak, grief is loss, grief is not knowing who you are without someone else. We have to learn who we are. Alone.

What a thrill to be a thought: thin as a film strip, thrust into a cacophony. Yet it's funny how I've met my loneliness as a friend. I've searched for my soul in heated hands and histories, token treasures and stolen homes. All that came was a hollow ghost. And so I'll resign, revisit, restart: find my heart in the reaching realms, realms called reconsideration. (Cover by Adam Tan from berlinartparasites)

Girl gets bitten by black dog as a child. Black dog follows her through her life, as a metaphor for depression. First draft, already thinking of changes I need to make! This is autobiographical, I really did get bitten like this as a toddler and I see it as a metaphor for the depression that came later.
