An author in poverty is looking for a reason to write his new work that he has had constant writer's block on. Walking out into a winter storm he finds himself on the brink of death, but it is there he obtains his reason for writing. "Your body is too weak you need to workout!" A voice stated, "What if I don't?" He replied, "You'll die." He was already in the push-up position the moment the reply was heard. After doing a single pushup, he falls to the ground out of breath. "This is going to take much longer than I thought..."

Some flames do more than light a room- they listen. Some bridges do more than carry you- they remember. In these poems, darkness is not the enemy, and silence is not empty. The candle keeps your name, the bridge keeps your steps, and the things you thought were gone are only waiting for you in another shape. Step inside if you dare to hear what light and stone have been whispering about you all this time. _MN.L♡_

Hi, thank you for taking the time to even consider reading my story! This is my first piece of work on Wattpad. I'm not a writer in the slightest. I have strange dreams, sometimes vivid, often disturbing. I usually write these dreams down whenever they occur to document them before I forget. I decided to make one into a short story here on Wattpad! This is why the language is simple and straightforward. I'm not telling a story. I'm merely describing what happened. Any constructive feedback is openly welcomed. Thank you so much.

The story revolves around a person who switches places with their shadow. Through this exchange, the protagonist embarks on a journey of self-discovery, facing hidden aspects of their personality and confronting their inner conflicts. The narrative explores how this transformation impacts their life and forces them to reevaluate their sense of identity. This story delves into psychological transformation and self-exploration through a symbolic exchange of roles between a person and their shadow. It uses rich symbolism to depict the shadow as a representation of suppressed emotions, desires, or fears, creating a profound introspective narrative.
