Virgil's always stayed in the shadows... literally. He was born with the ability to control them. He's mostly used it to make shadow creations when he's bored, or talk with his own shadow---who's pretty much his only friend. He doesn't know where the hell his powers come from, but he's not interested in finding out. All he's interested in is trying to get through sophomore year without a) failing, or b) embarrassing himself in front of cute guys. That is, until some British kid in a beanie---who can apparently shapeshift---shows up and tells Virgil that he's one of many people in the world with powers. And there's a place for teens to learn how to control them... and how to be spies. Soon, Virgil's navigating a new group of friends, crazy teachers, hidden biases, and an irritatingly dramatic (and adorable) roommate. High school's already hard enough without learning how to be a spy-slash-superhero, but hopefully, with enough luck, lack of will to live, and advice, Virgil will be able to make it through. Rumors spread like wildfire. Maybe that's why Dee took stock of them like currency. Rumors... Secrets... Just information in general, It'll get you far with him. He's a broker of sorts. And he always keeps his family in the know. Maybe that's why Virgil grew up so anxious. No... No, the real reason was he was anxiety. As a dark side, he was bound to get a bad rep. After all, the lights sides fought so damn hard to make there purfect square light and good, while the rest were made to suffer. Guess that's where the rumors started. Virgil always took them to heart. Even if they were obviously false, it was better to be safe than sorry. He remembered each and every one and believed them all... except for one. The light side couldn't be that bad right?

I'm sure that everyone has seen stories about Thomas taking anxiety pills and that having a negative impact on Virgil, but what if they would just make Virgil a little loopy? Virgil hasn't told anyone about the effects of the anxiety pills, but one night they all decide to have a movie night together. Suddenly Virgil starts acting weird though. Right after Thomas had taken his pills. How will the others react? I don't think that this story will have anything triggering in it, but if it does, I'll make a warning about it at the beginning of the chapter.

Hi. This is a book about my Sanders Sides OC's Envy and Apathy! They're so fun to write, and I figured this would be good enough until I upload the sequel to Darker Than He Seems. Everyone in the Mindscape has a nice life where they all appear to get along. However, whether this will last quickly becomes uncertain when something seems to be wrong with King Romulus.
