I live a life beyond your wildest dreams if your dreams were that a letter tasted like blueberries or colour had the scent of pine. My differences don't define me, nor do they shape the person who I want to be. A 16-year-old girl lives with a rare case of synaesthesia, a perceptual capability which crosses over two or more senses. For example, the ability to see a pale blue whilst eating chicken, or the scent a letter of the alphabet reminds you of. Vivian Bailey has lived all her life with her senses being "mucked up" she can smell the scent of lavender when she thinks of the letter H, perhaps hear waves crashing as she sinks her teeth into a nice fresh granny smith apple. Vivian Bailey has never understood her synaesthesia, she really didn't give it a second thought. However, the sight of a fresh sunset leads her down a spiral of confusion and daydreams. She could never forget the pools of silky honey, that people called eyes.

"Doppelganger Fixations," she calls them, as she believes her companions are little more than something her panicked mind has conjured up, but there's a lot more to these fixations than what meets the eye. Meet Yestin, Rebecca, Joanna and Sarah who each have their own stories to share as well as helping Marie uncover the reasoning behind her current condition. Sometimes people aren't capable of identifying what they are feeling. Sometimes it's what the music is for... to help them realize what they actually really feel.

What does a painter see that most people don't see? What about a blind painter? What does she see? What things that only she can see?

This is just a random collection of thoughts/poems about synaesthesia, a neurodiversity I can never find enough information on. (It is one of my special interests, you have been warned.) Feel free to ask me anything/ask for anything. I would love to hear from other synesthetes, and interested people. Think in rainbows!

People say that Julie see things and hear things that aren't real. People also say that Julie can't tell what she's feeling. ~~~~~~~~ 'You?' We both shouted. I was glaring at him fiercely. 'Well, I really can't imagine that.' Oliver guffawed. I have had with his sarcasm. 'You're so annoying!' 'I'm not. Julie, please don't say that.
