Failure to show up is not an option - non-cleared citizens have no rights to employment or education - no involvement in society whatsoever. Failing the check-up, or Care-Service as the World Health Service calls it, is not an option either, as Citizen Winnie Smith is about to find out. "Remember, being well is a state of mind! The year is 2117. A mechanical sentry has been patrolling the same route for all four months of his service, when a mysterious intruder breaks into the facility he's guarding. However, her face brings back memories of a past far more intricate than a machine could experience. As more is revealed about his previous life, a lethal intelligence inside the facility gets closer with every move he makes... ~ I made the cover art myself. I know this story needs a lot of editing but it was intended to be the beginning of a novel that I obviously never finished. Maybe if I decide to start the novel again I will clean this up. Before I put a whole lot of effort into such a project I need to know what my readers think of the story in general. If you like this story enough you are excited about this work being expanded then I will definitely consider working hard on this. Otherwise this story will have to stand as it is.
