It has been twenty five years since the last failed rebellion, a full century has passed since the Dark Days. Now, for the Hundredth Annual Hunger Games, and the Fourth Quarter Quell, President Camilla Snow has an idea that will crush any rebellion that may be underfoot. With an arena, a set of Gamemakers, Mutts, and more twists than she can count, all that is left is the only variable President Snow can't control: the tributes.

Evelyn is reading her all time favorite book series (The Hunger Games) when she mysteriously falls into the book. She is placed into district 4 and reaped. She soon learns that the only way out of the book is to win the games. At first winning seams easy, but as the games go on she feels like that chance is slowly slipping away from her. SYOT OPEN! Many years since the world has been destroyed by Genesis, an atomic bomb, the world is beginning to stir. People have gathered in communities called toxums, the leaders of the communities are called poskas (poska as singular), and the destruction of the earth is known as washek. But that is far from the point. The point is: there is hope. And where there is hope, there comes trouble. A mysterious radio message has sent sixteen people and their poskas Miriam 14 and Zaccary 15, into the depths of the wasteland, in search for something better. But is there really something out there? Revolutions can be small or large, and with power hungry, hopeful, individuals, only one can remain victorious in peace.

Each year, each of the 12 districts send two 12-18 year olds to compete in The Actor Games. One girl and one boy. This year Alex Shakespear has volunteered for her sister Juliet. She's taken to the Capitol of Actil, where the Actor Games takes place. Alex is different, she is being watched closely by President Bolton. Alex is the best no doubt but does she think that.

In Panem, there was the unspoken rule: do not forget where you came from. Do not forget the ashes and blood that spilled for you to live here. The little penance of yearly tributes let no one forget, but as the years passed by, people became distanced from the plights that Panem had built its structure upon. Indeed, people had drawn off, confused and bored of the world in which they were born into. The games became weak, they became brittle like the bones of those who had died nearly a century before. But no longer. It is time to go back to our roots.
