Rayhan Al-Farizi was used to living an orderly life until one morning in Kalianda, his steps slowed. On the terrace of RM Sari Laut Zahra, a woman was sweeping calmly. He only glanced briefly, then continued his jogging. But from that day on, that face kept disturbing his thoughts. He didn't even know her name yet.
Rayhan argued with his own feelings. He tried to ignore them, busying himself with work, but the feeling remained. Finally, he decided to go away to calm himself. At the same time, Aisyah Zahra Khairunnisa left the city to pursue her master's degree out of town. There was no certainty when she would return.
Time passed. Rayhan's family began bringing up the subject of marriage. He did not refuse; he only postponed it. In silence, one name was still kept.
One day, news arrived: Aisyah had come home. Rayhan learned of it, yet chose not to meet her. They had never properly known each other. There was no introduction, no intermediary. Approaching her now felt like crossing a boundary. He was also not yet ready to bring these feelings to his family. He was afraid of acting rashly and ending up causing disturbance.
So Rayhan held himself back. He waited in silence-not waiting for a chance to meet, but waiting until he himself was more ready. Ready in intention and responsibility.
Until now, he is still waiting.
