Ever since he defeated Emperor Percival Tachyon more than ten years ago, Ratchet has been more curious of his species than ever. He had so many questions about the Lombaxes; their traditions and the like, but above all, he wanted to know about his family. Every single day, he would sit down and think about how different life would be if both of his parents were still alive. One day, Ratchet walks into the Intergalactic Museum of History and stares longingly at the demolished Dimensionator on top of the bronze statue of Percival Tachyon. He knew that Clank had said that it was broken beyond repair, but he had a rush of overwhelming hope. What if...? This story does contain spoilers for Rift Apart. It is set directly after the ending of Rift Apart. Be warned, spoilers ahead. Following the defeat of Emperor Nefarious; Ratchet, Clank, Rivet, and Kit begin to rebuild their lives. Only to find Emperor Nefarious survived Bubbles the Kraken. There are never enough fanfics of alternate possibilities like this. What if Tachyon hadn't been on a vengeful quest to destroy the Lombaxes, but to simply build an empire and bring his kind back? Talwyn sprinted to it and yanked on the chain. "Dimensionator, find Ratchet!" Nothing. She desperately tried again with tears in her eyes, yielding no results. They were gone. Tracen Academy is home to many Uma Musume and trainers alike. However, there are those certain unusual Uma Musume, whenever it comes to having too strong personalities or beimg overall trouble makes, that no trainer gelt like they can handle. But that chamged once an even stranger trainer comes around. There are some rumours about the always smiling trainer, like how he appears to just spawn around when he's mentioned, of how he just has oversized screws at hand at all times, or even that he's faster than his trainees. But that can't be true...Right?

You were always special, though not in the common sense of the word. You were strange, quiet, absorbed in racing books and in recipes that no one but you would ever taste. After an injury that ended up tearing away your athletic dreams, your world became even smaller: home, trainer's school, home. Though, none of these races were graded. So today, will be his first Graded race. I wonder, will he be able to keep up this incredible momentum he's created?" "I'd say a better question isn't rather he can keep up, but rather will he be able to run well in the dirt in these conditions?" "Rather he can or can't, I'm confident that he's going to make tonight's race an incredible one"

But in the back of their mind, they thought, 'What if she kept racing.' Her Trainer, her very own guinea pig in her words, was as manic as her. With a recovery plan that slowly but surely helped her heal and even STRENGTHENED her broken foot. Plan A was to be re-done after six long years. Agnes Tachyon returns, the embers of her flames reignited. And she sure as hell is gonna burn bright.

For the age of 23, Connor Young was a verifiable prodigy. Having dropped out of highschool at 17, and joining the USMC, he had a career filled to the brim with once in a career missions, netting him an impressive set of accolades, and a few untimely scars, before ultimately bringing him to be the youngest Gunnery Sergeant in the history of the Marines. After sustaining catastrophic injuries, he was put in charge of training the Umas who volunteered for the infantry life with old Uncle Sam. Though the position is secure, he was given a unique opportunity by his command. A publicity deal that could set him up for a cushy career away from any front lines that may arise in the future. He is transferred full time to Japan to work as a foreign trainer at the prestigious Tracen Academy, alongside a group of college graduates who had spent years studying the Umamusume. Though the transfer seems easy, fortune and fate often find themselves at odds with one another, and Connor will soon get a little more than he had bargained for at Tracen. Between the traumas of his past, and the ire of trainers who believe he doesn't deserve his position, he may be in for a situation no amount of training can prepare one for. For reference.
