People live underground ever since they left the surface, though nobody can seem to agree on why, or exactly when. Speculation of the surface is pointless, anyways. Humans are now Huemen, and Ky was a normal one, until he turned 14. He thought he'd have at least some colour by then- maybe some blue in his hair, or at least green? Nope. Grey. It's normal enough, some people are late bloomers, but when your best friend gets kidnapped and you're 17 without any colour at all, you start to get the idea that not everything is as normal as you thought.
