The Great Civil War of Yhaan is a thing of the past, forgotten and replaced by a new King of Orrinshire. It is the dawn of a new era. But when want-to-be author Johan Conical arrives in the famous metropolis of Orrinshire, he begins to learn that there are secrets being hidden from the world, and that the war might not be so far off in the past as he thought. With the help of eccentric tailor Theodore Sharp, and the fiery circus act Lauren Whittington, he begins to investigate the mysterious case of the history of the War. "There you are! Took your merry time, didn't you?" Theodore said with a grin. "Good evening," Johan replied politely. "I'm terribly sorry for being so late; I must admit, I didn't realize Pleko lines had traffic." Oh Lord Above, he was all words and no common sense. Hadn't he mentioned something about writing a book in his first letter? That would explain it...

General Kirigan was intrigued, to say the least. Anya Petrova was an enigma that he desperately wanted to solve. She was always so bubbly and bright, he was surprised she wasn't a Sun Summoner. She seemed to bring happiness to everyone around her with her ever-changing hair color and witty comments. She was a Tailor brought to the Little Palace at the same time as Genya Safin and they instantly clung like glue to each other. But the thing Aleksander was worried about was what he felt when he was near her. He felt light and heavy at the same time. He didn't really know if he liked it or not. This is an AU where the Fold does not exist. Kirigan did not use merzost and he's not immortal. There's not much drama in this story, mainly just a little bit of angst and fluff. Genya never got gifted to the queen but she still does have to do stuff for her.
