12 year old Nazaria continues to have these strange lucid dreams, but when she explains them to family and peers they brush it off. It isn't until a visit to her Abuela's home in Manati, Puerto Rico, where she finally gets an answer to her questions. Only issue? they aren't dreams.

A short story that weaves a narrative of a courageous Taino young woman and what happens to her and her people at Columbus' arrival. Her name is Yuiza and this is how I imagined her story went.

Marisol was born and raise in Puerto Rico. An island known as the island of enchantment. However, Marisol was not able to see the good parts of the island or what it offers and instead wanted to finish her last year of high school and move to the USA. A fateful meeting with a taino girl might be the thing that opens her eyes and the people who live on the island. To what is happening to it and how the taino girl and the island are suffering. Some of the dialogue will be in Spanish, but I will have translation at the end.

After a tragic event in their childhood, twins Amara and Armando are driven away from the place they used to call their home. Years later, the possibility of another loss is what brings them back. Amara can see faceless mythological beings that others -including her brother- are not able to detect. And to make things worse, her abuelo pushes them both through it, thrusting them into a world of magic, monsters, and where the gods are as real as you and me. Speaking of gods, on Irene and Alejandro's arrival, she accidentally cuts her hand on a statue which awakens an ancient Cacica, a warmongering chieftain whose magic was so powerful she had to be sealed away in stone. Now the gods have tasked them with the responsibility of finding and destroying the Cacica's amulet, the item that allows her to summon and control hupías, bad spirits which wreak havoc on the living. Sounds easy, right? Irene and Alejandro hoped so. Otherwise, the Cacica's first order of business would be sacrificing them to restore their abuelo to his prime so he can stand at her side and conquer everything in their path.

Yuracan is a Taino God who has had enough of humans. Will he smite them? Will he play a game of Botey ball against them? Find out in Yuracan and the Lost Winds.
