Michiyo is a skilled vampire hunter. Her father is the number one vampire hunter in the Hunter's Association. She grew up with the Kiryu twins and was even there when Shizuka Hio attacked. Now it's five years later and her past is haunting her. Turns out, Toga Yagari, her father, hangs around Cross Academy and vampires used to attend as well. A surprise comes her way when she finds Zero, her once best friend, is a guardian at the school. Now Michiyo is at a crossroads: forgive her father and hunt as a Yagari, or find out the real truth as to how she came down with this vampire sickness.

(warning: spoilers ahead) Not too many people know who Kaito Takamiya is. He is from the manga of Vampire Knight, not in the anime. Kaito is a vampire hunter who has worked along-side Zero and Yagari. I feel he needs more... recognition, and so I created this short story of his life up 'till he gets to Cross Academy. Half fanfic (how I think his early life went) and the second half is based off of information from both the manga and one of the Vampire Knight novels written by Matsuri Hino.
