Mitsuya Takashi has always lived by faith-dutiful sakristan, model student, the one everyone looks up to. But when he meets Takemichi Hanagaki, a boy who has long turned his back on God, Mitsuya's carefully built world begins to shake. Takemichi, weighed down by family struggles and the cruelty of his peers, believes heaven has already abandoned him. He wants nothing to do with prayers or promises-yet Mitsuya's kindness keeps finding its way past his defenses.
