Asif saw the American soldier standing right in front of him, terrified to his boots. They were both roughly the same age, maybe a year's gap between them, but Asif looked a lot older with his beard. Asif could see that the soldier was shaking, sweating, trying to press a button on a small communication device attached to his bulky vest but struggling, and when he did press it for a second, he was too scared to speak. The young soldier was sorrounded by 20 men with guns aiming at his head. Haider slowly walked to Asif, trying to hide a small grin, and presented him with a loaded pistol.. "This is your chance". Asif carefully took the pistol from his hands, looked at it for a few seconds and slowly walked to within a step away from the soldier. He could feel the soldier's heavy breathing and could see the terrified look in his eyes. Asif whispered something under his breath and before anyone could prepare themselves for what he was about to do he raised the pistol to the soldier's head, an inch away from touching his helmet, and pressed the trigger. There was complete silence for a second and then a loud thud from the young soldier falling to the groun echoed around the desert. The men around them almost looked shocked for a minute. Almost, and then started cheering, celebrating by shooting at the grey clouds. Haider walked to Asif and hugged him, whispering in his ears "Welcome home, son".
