Cedro is new to the area and has recently joined a new pack of hawks. In spite of his best efforts, however, he's often a target for their abuse and disdain. But when the Nightshade Order, a mysterious cult of the Umbracrest (birds with shadow magic that cannot be countered) on the barrier islands threatens the flocks and Aerysia, it's up to six birds, one from each flock, to gain a mysterious power from their ancestors, the Lun'ariel, and save the flocks before it's too late.
