Emily Stone's move to Mountain Falls, a tiny overcast town in Washington, possibly might be the dullest life change she has ever made. But once she meets the enigmatic and enticing Aleksander Magnusson, Emily's plans take a sensational and stirring turn. To this time, Aleksander has managed to keep his non-human elfish nature a secret in this sleepy community his family lives in, but now they are all in danger, especially Emily, the person that Aleksander holds most dear. The couple finds themselves caught between the dangers of passion and peril. Deeply soppy with purple prose, this story captures the strife between resisting our impulses and savoring our inclinations. This is a romantic tale with pointy ears and a talking horse.
