Architecture of Friction is a series of short stories where I explore the various facets of friction in our relationships. These are contemporary romance stories for the mature heart: messy, authentic, and deeply felt.
The first in this series is The Price of Admission. This deals with two strong willed people who learn to love, protect and compromise on their own terms. They break promises, they vent and they take their silent punishment a bit too far. Sometimes, love is not about protecting the other by hiding them in a tower (figuratively), but knowing that they are in this fight together. This is the friction caused by protection vs independence.
The second story in this series is the Collateral Damage. This is a two part story exploring newly confessed love, where the feelings are new, the depth of everything they feel for each other hasn't been vocalized or even realized. There is a lot of introspection, cozy times and beautiful companionship of experiencing silence together. The friction here is an unintentional hurt and a chaotic younger brother who lives to stir the pot. This is a light read to enjoy on those lazy, rainy afternoon with a cup of hot beverage of choice.
The third story in this series is The Seduction Game. What happens when she thinks he is unaffected by her and decides to seduce him. Will he give in or will he turn the table? Misinterpreted signals, miscommunication and a whole lot of mess. How to they navigate this overwhelming fear of losing control in love and admitting that they need each other. It gets hotter in this story.
