'I'm an assassin, the best there is' Kyoya Ootori, The shadow king at Ouran Academy is not a normal teenager. He's an assassin, the black cat. The best assassin since the crimson viper...Who just happens to be his mother.

Summary: The Host Club plays 'commoner games', Kyoya is for once surprised, and Hikaru and Kaoru are up to no good. Please Note: I do not own Ouran High School Host Club, its setting, or its characters. That great pleasure goes all to Bisco Hatori. All I own is the plot of this story.

Tamaki has always been a rose. Bright, ever vibrant, and beautiful - inside and out. However, when faced with true struggle and pain, even he can wilt. Even he can fall to the ground. That is, if he didn't have a certain shadow prince to catch him.

It all started with one simple mistake of an author, but she decided to keep it to see the readers reactions. This is the result of that. All of the people in this story are revered genders. Boys come to the host club instead of girls, and Haruhi is a boy. The hosts are all girls.

Tamaki returns to a school in shambles, an abusive father, and feelings for a certain shadow prince.

The title is inspired by a song called "my lover, my friend" by AJ Mitchell. I will be basing each chapter on a song I like, each of which will be at the top of the chapter, so have fun listening to some music while you read. This is a Kyotama book. Tamaki Suoh is a loving person. He loves everything and everyone. Excepting the demonic crackhead creators of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, that is. There is absolutely nothing that he despises and fears more than that creepy-ass puppet show. Of course, Kyoya and the other Hosts do exactly what any good friends would do in this situation: tease him mercilessly. Kyoya uses mocking Tamaki about his eccentric phobia as a brief escape from his incessant pining over the self-proclaimed "King". Meanwhile, Haruhi Fujioka is generally done with everyone's bullshit (as per usual). Not to mention, poking Tamaki is a form of escapism from his own crush as well. Renge Houshakuji had finally gotten over her puppy love for the scholarly Host just when he suddenly gained feelings for the enthusiastic otaku. Talk about timing! At least he has his loving (if a bit eccentric) Host friends to help him through it. Oh, and weed. LOTS of weed. TL;DR Mostly TamaKyo, some background HaruRenge. Marijuana TW, Drugs TW, mild language. Disclaimer: I do not own these characters or Ouran Highschool Host Club. That chaotic mess belongs to Bones. Also, in this, Haruhi is a trans boy and Renge is a trans girl, because I'm trans and crave representation.

So, there is another person's story, which I helped make. They're taking full credit for it, so here's mine. our two boys, going at it.

Tamaki has merely a month to marry someone or his father will send him to America in an arranged marriage; but when Tamaki's plan to marry falls apart a week before he has to leave, and Kyoya is hospitalised in an accident waiting to happen, the two may be separated forever just as roses wilt in the cold of winter.
