Book One of The Elder Scrolls Adventures series. The first book is about a young Namira (half Breton, half Dark Elf) named Thaedill. She is caught at the border of Skyrim by Imperial Soldiers and she is taken to be executed along with some other familiar faces (hint hint Ulfric Stormcloak and his rebel soldiers). When she arrives at her final destination in a town called "Helgen" a dragon attacks the town killing mostly everyone. She escapes with a small child name "Hammond". [NaNoWriMo progress] Caught up in the turmoil of rebellion after nearly avoiding execution in Helgen, Aldria Wolf-Spear must search for her missing cousin and learn to fight to evade the Thalmor's assassins. Jarl Balgruuf's orders entangle her with the members of the Companions' Guild, including the grumpy-yet-handsome Vilkas. After all, who better to help slay the returned dragons scarring the land than a bunch of professional beast-slayers and brutes? She must prove that she can harness her startling new abilities and confront her fears to survive and, just maybe, end the terror of Alduin's return. Just don't make her venture down into a cave: she absolutely hates draugr. Story notes: I've taken a few small liberties in adjusting a handful of scenes, but they should follow the main quest line scenes fairly well. I'm writing this as more of an adventure/fantasy narrative, with a bit less focus on romance, but there will be a payoff to reading along the adventure. Also, doesn't everyone love how grumpy Vilkas is? Author note: This is my first time writing fan fiction, so please be kind. But I do like constructive criticism. I'm not new to writing, but I'm new to writing about an existing fantasy world.
