Synopsis - Placement-Takes places After "Kwaku Anansi S6 "and "Pain & Ink S1" Following the battle against Polaris in Pain & Ink's explosive finale, Amanda Waller arrives in New Haven, seeking the attention of Mosi Carter / Kwaku Anansi, the God of Stories. Waller knows the world is changing-gods, metahumans, and cosmic threats crossing dimensions-and she intends to weaponize it before it consumes Earth. Mosi agrees, reluctantly, to let Khalil Payne / Painkiller lead a new iteration of Task Force X. But unlike Waller's usual leash, this squad has a dual chain of command: Painkiller for the field, Waller for the mission-while Anansi looms overhead as a divine checkmate. With Blüdhaven as their base of operations, the new Task Force X becomes the only line of defense against Darkseid's agents, Starro's hive mind offshoots, and rising demonic incursions.
