Izuku Midoriya is a foster kid. His mother, unable to provide for him as a single mother while working towards a degree at her university, at the young age of 21, decides the best way she can give him the life he deserves is to give him up for adoption. Most families and couples would skip over him, wanting a child who was stronger and far more confident in hopes of them becoming a hero who would eventually lead their family to fame and fortune. When he was deemed quirkless at the age of four, people didn't even bother with him anymore. Not even the majority of the staff at the children's home. When the CPS found out he was being neglected, he was removed from the home and the building was shut down. Izuku was put into numerous foster homes, being moved from place to place for various reasons. Leaving for long extended periods at a time without permission and never saying where he was going, running away to find his birth mother or father, or being completely unable to get along with the family. That was just to name a few. After being told by his idol, the one person who gave him any sort of security in his life that he couldn't be a hero because he was quirkless, he almost gave up on his dream. He considered becoming a villain, but he still wanted to help people. That's when the idea came to him. If he couldn't be a hero and he didn't want to be a villain, then the answer was obvious.
