Summary: After Darwin is left in the pond and abandoned by his family, the Wattersons need to figure out how to live without Darwin and forgive themselves for abandoning him. Meanwhile, Darwin is trying to figure out why he was left in the cold, dark, pond, when all he wanted was a bigger fish tank. Will Darwin be reunited with his family? Or will he be alone forever? Notes: This AU is written from Gumball's perspective (most of the time.) If a chapter is in a different character's perspective, that will be stated in the notes at the beginning of the chapter. This AU is also based off the season four episode, The Roots.
