Silver Starling is an orphaned girl of 12 who goes to live with the Browns after getting thrown out of 12 other foster homes and leaving her younger siblings of 10 and 6 behind. She comes to the Browns as a serving girl alongside Evangeline. She never expected to start a friendship with the children, or to start having feelings for the oldest boy Simon, the main planner of the pranks. A year after their mother died, Silver was still there, but she was more of a family member, then a maid now. The family consistently grew closer with Silver over the course of the year and now they're closer then ever, even more for Simon and Silver.

Basically the retelling of The Bad Guys movie but it's in the perspective of the cat.
