It's been a few months since the books of beginning were destroyed and the Wibberly siblings were reunited with their parents. A few months since they each lost people dear to them. In the aftermath, their parents have tried to adjust them to a normal life, and a normal family dynamic. But the children know that it just doesn't feel right. They can't heal or live like this. Something inside Kate, Michael, and Emma craves the world of magic and their friends in that world. When their parents go out to the store one day and by nightfall have not returned, the Wibberlys become fearful. And a startling attack causes them to have to flee their home in the dead of night and return to the magical world. It turns out the ghosts of the past have come back to haunt them. And while these new loopholes in the boundaries between life of death allow the siblings to reunite with and seek help from some beloved friends, it also means their deadliest enemy is roaming the world once more, hungry for revenge. And so the three are launched into another quest to save their family and discover what could possibly be causing the very foundations of the world to shift. Michael investigates with a fervor, seeking guidance from many friends and allies among the living and the dead. Emma trains to fight to protect her family, helped by the ghost of her dear friend and mentor. And Kate begins to unlock the magic inside of her, magic that could hold the key to saving her family, defeating evil once and for all, and maybe even changing destiny to bring the boy she loves back to her. Thanks to progress, and some handy tutorials from the Wibberlys, Wilamena has discovered the joy of aesthetics, Michael just wants to promote his book club, Emma finds starting internet fights almost as fun as starting real fights, Rafe has a disturbing search history, Jake and Abby spam the family with memes, Lili and Eternity are head over heels for each other.
