Yet, something shifted between them, though neither can quite figure out when or why. They still joke around, debate everything from movies to video games and even music. For Noah, it's simple...or so he thinks. Cody is just Cody, his awkward, goofy friend who's hopelessly obsessed with Gwen, the one person Noah will never admit he's a little jealous of. besides, Gwen and Noah are friends. He's spent years trying to convince himself that he's just a supportive friend..the guy Cody can rely on.The idea of Cody being in love with him, of feeling something other than friendship, is...it just doesn't feel right. It would ruin everything. Besides, Noah is pretty sure Cody's too straight to even consider that possibility.. But deep down, Noah's heart betrays him, catching fire every time Cody laughs, every time he does his signature dorky smile with his tooth gap. That particular way that makes Noah's stomach twist. It's all complicated...and the fear of losing what they have keeps him not wanting to say anything. As for Cody, he's convinced that he doesn't feel anything for Noah beyond a deep, platonic affection. They've been through too much together for anything to ruin the bond they have. Cody is just grateful for Noah's constant support.
