This leaves off of the 2nd KOTLC book, but the Black Swan hides Sophie away in the Neutral Territories, saying that the Lost Cities simply wasn't ready for her. Keefe witnesses Sophie healing Alden's mind when she was supposed to be "dead". After that, he sends Sophie a letter every day, never giving up on the hope that she would one day reply.
