The avian closes his eyes for a moment, not saying anything. Of course, he would go to the same school and class and now share a living space with the guy he made his enemy. "I'm Tango! Of the Tek variety, I think we will have a great year together." "Yippee." Jimmy cheers unenthusiastically under his breath and hides his head in his arms on his desk-their shared desk. There have only been a few occasions when Tango could see Jimmy look like he was at peace. In Double Life, he caught the avian asleep in the stables, surrounded by the comfort of the animals that reminded him of home. Or maybe they just wanted more of the wheat he had brought them. Tango feels like the animals liked Jimmy more than they liked him. Tango could only count the times that happened on one hand. ---- Art Credit: @applestruda

It's incredible, really. Despite trying, everyone that Jimmy doesn't want to know seems to know. The one person he wants nothing more in the world than to tell doesn't- his crush on Tango, who is currently asleep on the couch and inside the apartment that he is standing in front of. With a mix of their Christmas presents packed in the back of his car, it looks like they're already a couple. That thought scares Jimmy more than he'd like to admit.

Tango closes his red eyes and sighs. He's probably just being paranoid because of the supernatural cases rising in the city just a few miles from his manor. He checks the grandfather clock once more, and the second it passes Jimmy's normal arrival time, he feels something in the air shift. Goosebumps form all over his arms, and a painful chill shoots down his spine. Danger, it screams, and that's enough for Tango to bolt out the door at record speed and follow the path he knows Jimmy takes to get to him every time. ---- Art Credit: @sillyeefers

Jimmy was inside Ravenger Records, shuffling through a stack of CDs, when he heard a squawk followed by a comically loud thud a few stores down. Hand ready on the handle of his bat, Jimmy crept low on the floor and headed towards the front door, where he waited. When the footsteps got close enough, he rounded the corner and swung. Tango tries to focus on how the other person looks at this moment; he would love nothing more than to be able to meet his gaze, but all he can think about is Jimmy's cold, limp body pulled tightly against his warm one. He thinks of beautiful gold shining in front of him, sunlight pushing through closed blinds, and honey so sweet it makes your teeth rot with a simple thought. It's smiling at him with a crazed look that he knows mirrors his own, high on adrenaline and in love with the person under his blade. He thinks of exploding for him, he thinks of killing for him, he thinks of dying for him. He thinks of a cooked meal getting cold, a missing soulmate, and invisible claws across his eyes. Jimmy swipes his right thumb across Tango's cheek, and the blaze hybrid tightens his grip on the avian's hips again, tracing circles on the front of his stomach with his thumbs. Jimmy uses his left hand to tuck Tango's hair behind his ear, "I love you so much." Tango's tail thumps behind him, and now that the appendage has made its presence known, he wraps it around Jimmy's right wrist. "I love you too."
