It began when a man desired the best for his nation. He went and became the hero he dreamed of being and endured what he needed to endure to be such a hero. Endure and endure, yet why is he still the person whom he began with? Do his acts of fairness and justice not work? Or is it due to the law of man's corruption that one who does good is equivalent to draining the ocean with a spoon? I have no words for his bravery, for amongst the clandestine egoists around him, he suffers, but God knows what had happened to him.

It's scary how we take the simplest gifts for granted until the day they're gone. We wake up expecting to hear our favorite song, see a sunrise, laugh with friends, or tell our parents "I'll be home soon" as if tomorrow is guaranteed. We rarely stop to realize that, for someone else, those ordinary moments have already become impossible. It's easy to walk past people carrying invisible battles, assuming they're fine because they're smiling. But some smiles hide silence. Some hide darkness. Some hide pain that words could never fully explain. Looking into the eyes of someone who's endured such a fate reminds us how fragile life truly is-and how precious every ordinary moment can be. Life is like a roller coaster. We never know what's waiting around the next turn. Sometimes the track is smooth, and everything feels effortless. Other times it's steep, twisted, and terrifying, giving us barely enough time to catch our breath before another challenge arrives. The only thing we can truly control is whether we hold on. Our dreams, our hope, our loved ones-those are the safety harnesses that keep us from falling apart. The ride may leave us scared, exhausted, or even broken at times, but as long as we refuse to let go, we keep moving forward. Maybe that's what courage really is. Not living without fear, pain, or uncertainty, but choosing to stay on the ride anyway. Because every storm eventually gives way to a sunrise, every tear makes room for a smile, and every ending quietly opens the door to a new beginning. Perhaps the meaning of life isn't to avoid heartbreak, but to love so deeply that, even after losing something precious, we still find the strength to keep our hearts open. In the end, we don't remember how easy the journey was. We remember the people who held our hands through the hardest parts of it.

Some hearts are broken, some are given. Sometimes love is all you need to live. A story about love that is shown in silence, that does not complain but is always there, love that is unconditional. A story about true love that is ready to sacrifice anything, about grief, betrayal and acceptance.

Harbin, November. Minus twenty-two and getting colder. She hadn't answered since Thursday, so I went over with a bag of tangerines because I didn't want to eat alone. I had a key. The lock always took three tries. I'm not going to tell you what I found. Not yet. Maybe not ever. What I can tell you is that when the paramedics came, I stood in her apartment and explained to them - calmly, reasonably, the way you'd argue with a bank - that she couldn't be dead, because she had work on Monday and she had never once taken a day off in three years. I was wrong about that. I was wrong about almost everything. I Don't Want to Eat Alone is a novel about grief, distance, and the things that get lost in translation between two people who loved each other in a language neither of them spoke well. It's about a foreigner with no standing - not family, not next of kin, just the man who found her - trying to piece together why, from three thousand kilometres away, in a country whose paperwork has no box for what he was to her. It's about her mother, who flew in from Fuqing and asked me one question in a doorway that I answered too fast. It's about a city built by people who left, that is very, very good at continuing. And it's about what was done to her online, in a language I can't read, by people whose names I will never know. She was learning English. She had an exam booked. There was a date circled in red pen. I never got to see it.

"We've been living on a fault line, and for awhile you were all mine. I've spent a lifetime giving you my heart, I swear that I'll be yours forever till forever falls apart." -Ashe, Finneas Emerson Buckley has never taken the easy path. At eighteen, she left home not long after her older sister, determined to build a life of her own. College was supposed to be simple-study nursing, graduate, move on. But a few months in, Emerson realized she wanted something more. Something faster. Something that mattered in the moment. So she changed her path and became a paramedic. By twenty, Emerson had already earned her place at the 118. Now, six years later, at twenty-six, the station feels more like home than anywhere else ever has. Even with new faces and a constantly changing crew, she finally feels like she belongs. That sense of stability is shaken the day her twin brother, Evan Buckley, walks into the station wearing a firefighter uniform. Suddenly, Emerson isn't just balancing the chaos of emergency calls-she's dealing with her reckless twin working beside her every day. And worse? His best friend. Because Emerson has already learned the hard way that falling for someone you work with can end in disaster. But when everything in her life begins to fall apart, the kind of love she's been trying to avoid might be the only thing strong enough to hold her together. Season 1 - Season 4 Warring- some harsh Language, speaks of Sexual assault/Abuse and physical assault, also speaks of blood and all that 9-1-1 jazz Disclaimer- I do not own any of the 9-1-1 characters, I just love them so I thought I could write a little story, but I do own Emerson and Jake, also any other side characters that might pop up. "Because when things feel heavy... I want to be where you are." That's what he told her. And somehow, she believed him. They met at a quiet café - where his past stayed zipped behind a jacket, and her heart hadn't yet learned how to be careful. He wasn't supposed to stay. But then came the borrowed mornings. The almost-kisses. The scar she wasn't supposed to see. Suddenly, love didn't look like a promise. It looked like something whispered - just in case someone was listening. The Lie That Loved Me is a slow-burn, poetic romance about soft hands, sharp truths, and the ache of loving someone who was never yours to keep. For the ones who never asked for forever - just for someone to stay. - © 2025 Anira. All rights reserved. Do not repost or reproduce without permission.

At St. Crestmont Academy, the Rockefeller name is synonymous with royalty-a multi-billion-dollar empire built on power, prestige, and untouchable privilege. To twenty-one-year-old Merlin, that same name is a curse he hides beneath faded thrifted clothes and bruised knuckles. Living in the damp, decaying slums of St. Jude's Hollow, Merlin is a ghost in his own life. By day, he is a fragile music scholar whose angelic, soaring countertenor voice leaves the academy's elite chorale spellbound. By night, he works brutal double shifts at greasy late-night diners, drowning in debt just to keep his dying mother alive. But when a simple roster post exposes his surname, it catches the attention of Maverick and Maxwell-the cold, ruthless golden sons who rule the campus. To them, Merlin is an insulting charity case dragging their pristine legacy through the dirt. To Merlin, they are a terrifying reminder of a world that left him in the dark. She doesn't remember falling in love with him. He never stopped. Tara wakes up with her whole life intact - except for the one person who was supposed to be the center of it. No memory of his voice, his hands, the years they spent becoming each other's home. To her, Arjun is a stranger with sad eyes and too much history in his silences. He could tell her everything. Remind her, convince her, hand her back the version of them she lost. Instead, he does the hardest thing love has ever asked of him - he lets her go, and waits to see if she'll choose him again, with no memory to owe him anything. This isn't a story about getting love back. It's about falling in love twice, with the same person, for the first time.
