The world has entered into an Age of Post-scarcity under the influence of a one world government which was forged by a conglomerate of tech companies (Google, Facebook, Amazon, Tencent etc.). Rico is a citizen of this world Technocracy. Thus all of his basic necessities are secured by this state-of-the-art Machine of State. Yet Rico doesn't have a job. Doesn't have a purpose. Unwittingly, Rico gets involved with a network of revolutionary terrorists fighting this One World Technocracy. Thus Rico falls unwittingly into the "Techno Underworld".
