This is the roleplay of 2012 The Lorax. I don't own the movie, Illumination does.

(On hiatus) You may have heard parts of this story from time to time, but did you know that there was some history you missed. The book stars a young man named Once-ler and his journey to the top. All his life, he has dreamed of becoming a billionaire manufacturer for his newest invention, the Thneed, but things didn't exactly go as planned. When he travels to town to advertise his product, the towns people tease him for his idea with a face full of tomato's. Just as Once-ler is about to give up, he meets a young woman by the name of Malory who helps him rise to the top. Join us as we watch how Once-ler turns into someone he never expected, while falling head over heals in love for his best friend.

It literally took me about 2 hours mulling over what I would do for this contest's theme. If I were to be quite honest with you all, I REALLY didn't want to do a Lorax thing for this contest, (and the Once-ler's character arc was already too canon for things lmao) but then this idea just... came up. And it was too good and heartbreaking to pass up. Because the first thing I thought up when I saw the contest details was that, "DAMN I'm so gonna write about a Hero turned Villain! But I need an unconventional hero who doesn't really turn evil, just... someone who did something really awry and that in turn makes them the bad guy for doing it." And so I wrote this short fic with a screaming heart because that idea was just perfect. An AU where Ted... well... just read it to find out, I guess? Also hey. This story takes place just like the movie but what happens when your granddaughter and her friend an 12 yr Ted Wiggins go find the man named the onceler while their town is living plastic and what happened to the real trees that live long before theendvile was born and long before O hare come into power Will Ted and G/D/N get together? Will Y/n be reunite with the onceler again after so many years? Will the Onceler tell our heroes of the tragedy of the demise of the truffula trees?
