James Hill's life is complicated enough without adding a superhero boyfriend to the mix.
He's sixteen. He wants to be a doctor. He volunteers at the hospital, stress-bakes at 2 AM, and he's really good at keeping secrets-which is helpful when his mom is Maria Hill from S.H.I.E.L.D. and her girlfriend is literally the Black Widow.
At Midtown School of Science and Technology, he's just another science nerd trying to survive junior year. Nobody knows he's had combat training from actual Avengers or that he spends weekends at secure government facilities. And that's exactly how he wants it.
Then Peter Parker walks into his life.
Peter's awkward. He's sweet. He's always got some weird excuse for being late or covered in bruises. And he's got the worst kept secret identity James has ever seen.
Yeah, James knows he's Spider-Man. Kind of hard to miss when you've got the observational skills of someone raised by spies.
James should stay away. He should focus on his grades, his volunteer work, his college applications. He should NOT be patching up Spider-Man at midnight or covering for Peter's absences or lying to his SPY MOTHER about where he's going.
But Peter makes him laugh. Peter sees him-not Maria Hill's son, not the overachiever, just... James. And when Peter smiles at him in Chemistry class, James forgets every logical reason why this is a terrible idea.
So yeah. James is falling for Spider-Man. And he's pretty sure it's going to wreck him.
