In a world where magic and fantastical things and creatures exist, humanity has outcasted all magic and tried to wipe out any trace of it. Now human society functions mostly the same as it does now in the modern world, but there are still some traces of magic left, and some creatures who slip past detection. None of this maters to normal, introverted Charlie Martin. There's nothing overly interesting or different about him, he likes to read and play chess, he gets good grades, he barely has any friends, and he has two loving parents, Charlie thinks his life is perfect the way it is. Until one day when it all goes down hill for Charlie. He woke up one morning, and he had started growing feathers, his parents called him a monster, told him he was adopted and a mistake, then kicked him out and told him never to come back again. So he was left out in the Canadian streets in the middle of winter with nowhere to go, he is then (forcefully) adopted by a group of magic extroverted vigilantes, in Charlie's opinion this is a downgrade.
