This is a book of poems I've written about how I've felt. I started writing poems as an outlet, as it turns out I was pretty good at it :D So, I wanted to share it in hopes that this could help someone else. This contains mentions of SH, ED, child abuse, depression, anxiety, and SA if any of these topics are triggering to you I would advise you not to read, as it contains very descriptive details.

Sometimes, I'm not sure of what's going on. And it's all my fault. Mummy said it was so she left when I was 7. And now I'm 16. Her father leaves them when she was around eight. Then her mother brings in a new guy, Jackson. Star thought her world would change for the better but its just the opposite. And now she is being accused of the murder of Jackson. Star had to go into Foster Care and separated from her sibling. Even though she misses them all like crazy she falls for the boy who lives at the home. Hayden has his own dark past but Star finds him adorable and falls head over heels for him. Can the two of them make it or will they too be separated from not trusting and believing in one another.

"Lock Up Girl: A True Story" is the story of Anessa, a teenage girl court ordered to a juvenile detention facility. The novel follows Anessa's journey as she comes of age while caught up in the "youth injustice system". The story, based on true events, deals with questions of relationships, sexuality, love and loss, as well as providing a very topical take on issues such as self-harm, juvenile crime, prostitution, and substance abuse. As I lay here in my overly heated bed, alone, my mind is racing. Holidays finish in three days, classes haven't even started and i know i'm behind, on top of that, someone put into my head that i was ready to start VCE a year earlier than everyone else making my (non completed) workload triple all my friends. My perfectly good friendship group was destroyed about eight months ago since the bitchy, double-crossing new girl has joined, to better that, she has latched onto my gay best friend, the boy who has been by m side through my best and worst moments and suddenly she is doing everything in her power to get me kicked out of both his and her life. The world is very expecting of high scoring students, it seems as though my world comes crashing down if i score lower than 90% on any subject, once people realize you aren't a total dumbass they assume you'll always be the best, they? you ask, that's me referring to my parents, my brother, teachers, other students, myself. Between the constant reminder that having a boyfriend means you're hot-shit and the stress teenage hood brings on a fifteen year old girl turning sixteen in a few months, we're all bound to go a little crazy sometimes. the only difference is that i put my story on the internet. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All stories are mine personal experiences, i started this book one night because i needed to get all my emotions, day to day life experiences and odd stories off my chest. xx
