Kyla and Nadia are best friends. They've known each other since birth and are like soulmates. They've never kept a secret from each other. Nadia and Kyla are both 19, but they can both be pretty unmature for their ages. They mean the world to each other, as friends, and that would never change. 16 is a very sweet age. You learn to drive, maybe go to bed a bit later and some people even find romance (that's about all you can do in Australia at that age). Things don't really go according to plan for Max Winters (AKA Buttons) and Amaryllis Penrose as they face challenges that no one their age should face.
