They were best friends in middle school. Inseparable by high school. But when Alex Russo left the country to go back to his hometown to pursue his 'family business', like all friendships, they drifted apart. Each returned to their own worlds, where precious memories of each other's company had faded to the back of their minds. Until one day, it all came back when Alyse Rose, at 22, attended a blind date set up by her friend, only to find out it was Alex Russo. Now the head of the Russo Mafia, with only one condition: he must marry someone, for at least a year. Alex had worked hard to become the head of the Russo Mafia. Perfecting shots at 15, and hand to hand combat by 13, he had learned to never show emotion, or any kind of weakness around anyone, lessons learned from experience and his father's teachings. Alex convinced himself he didn't need love. It was a weakness to him. But after years of pushing away, he found his weakness in a girl he had not seen for a long time. Alyse had completed her studies, and eventually, university. She then lived her days doing what she loved most: writing, reading and doomscrolling on her phone for 'ideas', for an unhealthy amount of time. But writing so many romance novels was starting to affect her. It made her need to find love grow. And she did. Just, not in the way she expected. In her childhood best friend.

Or at least here, her name is Shoko Hanajima! (The placeholder name I use when writing and brainstorming lol) There will be some appearances from side characters and characters from other stories that I wrote, too! Oh, yeah, and I might toss some of my readers in a little later on, if you'd like :)
