Just a few years ago, an adolescent boy vanished from the streets of Oslo, Norway. Tourists and travelers, especially of a young age, are notorious targets of assault, robbery, rape and kidnapping in virtually every part of the world. Despite best efforts on behalf of the family and police, the trail grew cold quickly and was eventually deemed a "lost cause". Outwardly calm and stoic, Sylas Viklund appears to be nothing more than a young man struggling to find his footing in the turbulence of adulthood. This is a ruse; a protective layer.Brilliant blue eyes, though watchful and intelligent, are stained with subtle hints of a certain sort of desperation...as though beyond them lay a void which could never be filled. Somewhere between the blurred lines of static white noise lurks something dark and elusive...something that can make your spine tingle at the sight of your own shadow, or keep your eyes looking over your shoulder while you're walking home at night. Shame, fear, and bitterness spun together a web of carcinogenic memories in which he finds himself caught, again and again falling prey to the clutches of his own addiction.
