"To the ones that don't fit in the body they came in, Or are defined by a name that causes foreheads to wrinkle with judgement, To the ones who are mocked for having parents that worked hard to put us in school, To the ones who hide their home-cooked lunches because others disrespect the spices that carry decades of tradition, To the students that are forced to eat meals alone - You can sit with us." Written for Telus - WE Day. Telus, WE Day, Wattpad and I have collaborated to inspire all readers to end bullying through sharing short poems about empowerment and hope. Enter in the @Telus contest and show us how you want to #EndBullying!

Dear whoever has said 'stick and stones may break my bones but words won't hurt me', You lie: yes, stick and stones may break your bones, but words may just hurt you more; and Jacob is about to find out how much words really hurt. Think before you click, because it only takes one. ;----------------------------; note: this whole work is a figment of my imagination so any coincidences are purely just coincidences; just because this is something i made up for this contest doesn't mean it doesn't happen in real life. take that into thought when you say something to anybody online. spread love, not hate; only love. whoever needs help, please get it! i know it's not easy, and me saying this will do nothing. you don't have to talk face to face with anybody; i will be making a book all about helplines and websites you can reach out to; the helplines will go beyond just bullying. mental health is an overall topic our society NEEDS to touch on. please be safe, darlings! p.s. if you can't join the contest, please, at least consider writing for the sake of getting more people aware of how serious of a problem cyberbullying is. just because it isn't said face-to-face doesn't mean it hurt less. © 2017, Kimberly J. I don't like cheesy quotes. Why? Because half the time, they aren't true. Cyberbullying isn't to be sugar-coated. I of all people know this. But it's not like in the movies. It's not like you can start farting glitter bombs and sing show tunes while prancing around like Cinderella after experiencing what it's like to be publicly humiliated and shamed. This is what it's really like. The good, bad and the ugly. *** #RiseAbove Writing challenge for Telus FICTION All Rights Reserved Copyright 2017©
