When a tornado rips through Maretime Bay, Sunny Starscout (Jenna Warren) and her dog, Cloudpuff, are whisked away in their house to the magical land of Oz. Tempest is the only mare in her town called Ponyville that reads and thinks outside the box. The ponies in her town think it's unhealthy, and call her an odd mare. But when her mother Malia is captured by a changeling named Perla, Tempest takes her mother's place as Perla's prisoner. But soon Tempest sees something there in Perla that she didn't see before.
