EMOTIONS WERE CREATED TO BE FELT, NOT SUPPRESSED.
Though somehow, it seems that Kaida Cooper has missed that memo. With a lifetime full of the wrong kind of influence from her mother, she has drawn the conclusion that emotions shouldn't be felt, but instead, smothered. Smothered, deep below the surface where nobody can hear or see them.
She manages to survive on this phenomenon for a while, living like the husk of the person she could be. Though, with the introduction of one person in particular, those emotions begin roaring to the surface of a long-frozen lake buried somewhere deep in her mind.
IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT.
Seth Gretski's brain replays the final moments he remembers with his parents until they become no more than faceless images without voices or souls in his mind. Those faceless images haunt his mind, though he hides it from everyone, including himself.
On the outside, he's a sunshine boy. On the inside, he's healing. Slowly, but surely, he is healing. Healing through talking to people, healing through feeling, and healing through watching others who aren't as broken as he is.
Until he spies a soul even more shattered than his own. Kaida Cooper.
WE MIGHT BE MESSY, BUT WE'RE US. AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS TO ME.
