It stood out from the others, about half the size of it's neighbours but it was well kept, no strewn flower carcasses and flawless of any chips or cracks. "Brother?" I pointed towards the gravestone, aiming to find out more about my elusive mate. "He was my husband-" She paused, the subject clearly still an open wound. "It was cancer that got him before the cigarettes. Although he would say it was my incessant nagging." She gave me a sad smile, holding up her left hand where a wedding band adorned her ring finger. I felt disoriented, as something sank in my stomach, because I knew deep down she would never be able to love me as much as she loved him.
