When the Faeries of Old Ireland left home, they crossed the Atlantic to settle in the remote wooded mountains of northern Georgia. Fifty years later, a dispute arose among them: what should be done about the Part-Faeries, the people with Faerie and Human ancestry. The leaders of the Faeries decreed that all those who could not show wings and fly must leave the Faerie Lands. Families and friendships were torn apart overnight. Some folks refused to accept the situation. They found new Lands, in the desolate Ventana Mountains of California, east of Big Sur. They founded a community where Faeries, Part-Faeries and Esselen Indians live side--by-side in peace. But the Twenty-First Century is catching up with them, and they face the same dangers as their kin back in Georgia. On Halloween Night, a traveling artist named Banning MacTamick finds himself on the run from an outlaw biker gang called Satan's Posse (which should tell you everything you need to know about them). He and his strange new friend Raven take refuge in her home, the odd place that calls itself "Monarch." There, Banning has to confront the fears that have pursued him his whole life. He's not who he thinks he is. And maybe he doesn't want to be the person he's becoming.

(This is a sample of the novel TERRA LUNA, which my wife and I wrote. Much of it is on Wattpad and the rest of it will be posted soon. TERRA LUNA is about the precarious survival of the Faeries of Old Ireland here in the United States. You can read more about the Faeries on our tumblr, jrwoodward.tumblr.com In this section, Ian, our hero, discovers that his ancestors helped bring the Faeries across the Atlantic Ocean.)
