In an alternative future, Terry is an average high school student at Gotham High, a lawless school that reflects the city it's in. Fed up with the injustice, she seeks guidance from an aging Dick Grayson to train her to become the next Batman.

Terry McGinnis loses his father, gains another, but eventually loses that one too. It hurts, but pen and paper give his thoughts somewhere to rest. A look at processing grief through writing letters to people who can no longer receive them.

This story is a Batfamily fan fiction about the Batfamily 30-35 years into the future. I will now describe each section of the family. Damian:rough on the outside and to his enemy's, but is secretly a girl dad. He took over the league of assassins. Jason:tries his best to be there for his family, but is absent a lot of the time, he's a professional hit man. Tim: Basically a normal dad, hates how his daughter is already a vigilante, anytime she gets injured it's basically a "I told you so" moment. He manages the Wayne tech. Barbra: makes sure maddy only fights when absolutely necessary. She pushes her in school , she's the second smartest after Brynn. Barbra took her fathers place as the commissioner of Gotham city's police department. D!ck: the dad that would do anything for their kid, they often have talking sessions since Brynn often is under a lot of stress that she can't show. He's basically the best dad ever. They all dislike terry mcginnis for..unknown reasons, but brynn often relates to him. Bruce never enjoyed any of his grandchildren's company and often thought they were annoying.

Out of stubbornness Nightwing quits the family business, only for family to drag him back in. In particular, one stubborn Robin ticking off a serial kidnapper as himself rather than as Robin. Oh, and Christmas stinks, but once a hero, always a hero, and Damien remains Damien, an evil little twerp who learned "good" ways to be evil and tormenting. Disclaimer - I don't own DC. I'm utilizing elements from the Young Justice, Batman Beyond and other series, as Damien never shows in either. AU origin for Terry, but more specifically, Batman's not his father genetically but related in a different way. At this point, Terry's parents are already divorced. Also, I like the idea of Warren always being aware of the fact Terry's not his biologically, but not caring. Some of the other plot twists though are left a secret.

The current Flash tells Terry someone is out to kill Batman, yet rubs into his face he's not Nightwing. So, on top of not knowing who his real father is, Terry also doesn't know who's wanting to kill him. Disclaimer - I don't own Batman, Young Justice or Batman Beyond.
