In his youth, he was Robin before Nightwing with a defined direction and purpose in life. In adulthood, said purpose disappeared along with certain memories. Lost is the memory regarding what happened between youth and adult hood. Lost are the memories regarding what happened to Jason. Lost are so many things. In an attempt to finde and redefine himself, Grayson finds himself back at Wayne Manor, attempting to move out from under Bruce's wing once and for all, only to find the memory of a forgotten love letter in the attic among the things Alfred kept to him. Disclaimer - I don't own DC Comics. This story uses the canon material from Young Justice and Batman Beyond. The story contains alternate origin stories and alternate blood relations for the Batman Beyond canon. Goes AU towards the end of season one for YJ possibly. None of the stories written are actually a part of the DC storyline. They're purely a figment of my imagination, because who doesn't want to read more about Terry McGinnis? The book will be a collection of different stories, with each chapter mimicking a new episode, and continues from where Batman Beyond left off in the third season. It will bring in characters from the rest of the DC universe, but will encounter villains who Terry may have not in the show, with new ideas and plots. If you are also a Batman Beyond fanatic and think it ended far too abruptly, keep reading, and I hope I can do it justice. Enjoy ;)

Terry takes the Crocker out for a spin, yet finds a connection he didn't expect. Disclaimer - I don't own Batman/Batman Beyond. Note - The story takes place in 1961. Since the theme for the purple round was to also use the historical fiction genre. For this fic I took into consideration Batman originally took place during the 1940s, but brought in some of the more modern characters such as Terry McGinnis into the time period as a kind of what-if. As such my alternative head canon for Terry's background actually works out wonderfully as his original origin story wouldn't work for the time period. I also brought in the twist of Dick Grayson being considered KIA or MIA during World War II, but loved figuring out which vehicles to use, among other things.

In the aftermath of the Killspeed FlashPoint, Neo-Gotham becomes the stage for the rebirth of the Metal Men-robotic heroes forged by the brilliant but troubled Dr. Will Magnus. Once dismantled and scattered to protect their responsometers, the Metal Men are reawakened when strange fractures in reality begin warping technology across the city. The Metal Men, now fully aware and autonomous, must adapt to their new destiny under the guidance of Mosi Carter/Kwaku Anansi while facing escalating threats-from chemical monstrosities to rogue AIs and remnants of the Crime Syndic

Terry McGinnis loses his father, gains another, but eventually loses that one too. It hurts, but pen and paper give his thoughts somewhere to rest. A look at processing grief through writing letters to people who can no longer receive them.

The transition into adulthood is a pain. Warren McGinnis thought he would no longer have to deal with the spoiled rich kids and jocks of his high school years, only to find out his roommate is none other than Gotham's playboy Dick Grayson. Disclaimer - I don't own Batman Beyond. In this AU the Joker movie and Waller's experiment don't exist, and the reasons for the bat family breaking up differs. Terry is still related to Bruce but in a different manner. (It's a secret.) There are also a few timeline changes, which includes when Bruce retired, but also a lessoning of the age gap between Terry and the rest of the bat family, and when Bruce retired. The AU borrows here and there from the different continuities. Bruce is cold, but a different type of cold. In the final pre-planning Beyond the Night, I debated whether to write the story from Terry's timeframe with flashbacks to the past events or to break the story up into two parts. I decided on the latter and then debated whether to write at the same time, to do the now first or the past first. I finally decided upon the past, particularly since I'm going to use a writing technique I've only used with my Best/Worst Christmas Pageant fics. Warren McGinnis plays a role in this, though there is no character tag for him. Mary also plays a role, hence her character tag will eventually be used, but she does not use the name Mary in this. While this may not seem to tie into BB, this is an AU origin story for Terry. Another secret. Lots of secrets. I'm not saying exactly what they are, as the secrets are supposed to be something discovered over the progression of the story. (I will be dropping clues.) How I'll use the various continuities to shape the series is a secret.
