What if being an individual was against the law? The very fabric of your existence controlled by people whose faces you have never seen? How would you feel knowing that any and every part of your identity is an exact match to the people around you? The freedoms many of us take for granted are the pleasantries only granted to the lucky winners of a draw? Celestial Rayne is a product of such a society, a society where you have no right to be different from the people around you. The women all have the same hair,the men are the same height,no one has a favorite color or unique story. The supreme court known as "The Makena" monitors the progress of the population hoping to solve the seemingly greatest flaw in the human intellect. Judgment based on personal preference. The main way to test the theory of preference is to remove the different traits from the people around her. Rayne soon becomes accustomed to the life she was born into not questioning the need for the daily injections never questioning the overly controlled society. That is until the day "The Makena" decide to draw select individuals to monitor without the serum. Soon Raynes outlook on the world around her changes. Will the taste of freedom be enough to change Raynes normal opinions on the people around her? Will being able to see the physical differences cause her to question the way of life she has always followed in the past? And how will she deal with the attraction she feels to the one person she will never be able to be with?
