Thantophobia Stories

A short poem, written in free verse. My poem is called Death is an Angel. It describes death in a way that isn't how we see it, and how the fear of death is really just the fear of the unknown. And when humans don't know or understand something, they make it a monster. This leads to things like sexism, racism, homophobia, transphobia, ableism, etc.

thantophobia (n.) the phobia of losing someone you love. "it's because i like you elle! i really fucking like you so excuse me for acting like this when i see you with him!" he yelled. shocked at his confession, she went quiet. she was silent for what felt like hours, but was mere seconds. teary eyed, she looked up, locking eyes with him. The story follows Tort an immortal shapeshifter, who's been trough a lot. Tries to distance himself at first, just to later fight side by side with his friends, against the evils of the bizzare world he lives in. (Don't mind the grammar english isn't my first language. He and his little brother, 14, were kicked out of the house. They lived in an apartment mostly saved for high school students that were kicked out of their house or just don't have a place to live. And they were just that. Phyllis was a senior and his brother was a freshman. Another senior lived underneath their apartment. Theo Joliah, a popular alpha who fit in with everyone. Phyllis always sort of admired him from the start. As Theo started to take interest in the older boy, Phyllis' distrust towards people and philophobia made him back off and reject people. Theo has the opposite phobia. He had the irrational fear of being abandoned by someone he loves. As they both set their phobias off, Phyllis, the school jock, goes and plays at a football game. A few minutes into the game, he feels nauseous and suddenly a stabbing pain erupts in his abdomen. Surrounded by alphas, he falls and pants, experiencing one of his worst nightmares. His first heat.

[Thantophobia (n.) ~ fear of losing someone you love] Book 3 of 'Afraid' Series "Some things are always meant to be hidden no matter how much people love them or wish to see them because once they see those, they start moving away." "If people drift away after seeing something they wanted to see, it means that they had never really loved it." In a world where you get cuts, which later become scars, everytime someone else breaks a promise they had made to you, Navoneel, a literature student goes back to the same cafe frequently and Tamoghno, an aspiring musician, runs a local café with his friend. The closer the person causing the cuts, the deeper the scar will be. And those have more control over them than everyone thinks.
