Liv, an ex marine is in Atlanta when the outbreak starts. She finds a group of good people and ends up on the door steps of a farm. The farm is owned by the Greene family. A certain brunette farm girl catches Liv's eye and her world is yet again turned upside down. Can she handle keeping focused and the new feelings swirling inside of her?

Marina "Marnie" Dixon is Daryl and Merle Dixon's little sister, at just 7 years old. Marnie has a heart of gold, and loves helping people, but she can sometimes be feisty when upset. After a terrible incident involving their father, Marnie is placed in a coma. Just as the dead begin to walk. Daryl and Merle rush down to the hospital, which is more chaotic than the streets, only to find Marnie's hospital room trashed and empty. as spunky eight-year-old girl raised in Georgia by her abusive father Scott. Masie realizes at a young age that she can only trust herself. She is smart, and knows how to hunt and take care of herself, which gets her points with the rednecked brothers she has been convincing herself she doesn't need.
