The 5th Wave is easily one of my favorite books... however I hated how the first one ended. It tore me up for months, basically a year before book 2 came out. This was a fanfic I had to write for school back when I was in high school, it was right after I read The 5th Wave and I was angry at Rick Yancey for how he left me reeling! I have read all 3 books. But when I found this again I wanted to share it with someone again.... I hope you enjoy

Another point of view of the book "The Fifth Wave" by Rick Yancey. Danielle is a the average smart, short-tempered, impulsive, suburban, teenage girl, with a rarely-revealed survivalist side. She fits in while sticking out. Hayden is her best guy friend. He is the stereotypical high school popular-in-a-non-jerkey-way guy with a descent sized brain. He is a 6'5 with a knack for fitting in with virtually every social crowd. But when the Others came, nothing would be the same again. Both of them will have to to bring out parts of them they never thought they would see. Parts of them that they didn't know were there in the first place.

Ben Mason is a survivor , the second son of Tom Mason, the most important person in this whole revolution against the aliens. Ben is angry, and he is planning his own revenge against the aliens for making him suffer through the harness. But not everything was on his plans... at least she wasn't. He saved her, the same way she saved him. ***Fanfiction about Ben Mason, the character from Falling skies, this whole story is around him, so the story is different from the show, however it will have connections.***

Aliens have landed on Earth, and their intention to wipe out humanity is, unfortunately, going really well. So far, the first four steps of their plan have been executed: the first wave took out all electronics, causing half a million deaths through car and plane crashes alone. The second wave took out another three billion people with an enormous, well, wave, that hit the world's coastlines. In the third wave, 97% of the survivors were killed by a deadly virus. In the fourth wave, it became clear that, sometimes, humans are actually controlled by aliens that will shoot you at first sight. The result? No one can be trusted, and the only thing those who are still fighting for survival can do is wait for the fifth wave to hit. or; the one where camila and lauren try to survive an apocalypse

What does one do when they slowly and painfully watch the world around them turn into a nightmare? Do we stand there and do nothing? Do we fight with all out might? But what if its too late? ... I sat against the tree, the rough bark leaving slight feelings of pain on my back. I tried to not look at the body that lied dead in front of me. I took slow breaths trying to calm myself. I held onto my backpack as if it was my life. My head throbbed against the tree and the pain in my arm was stronger than ever. But none of that compared to the grief I felt inside. I needed to survive. Because if I didn't, then that means they died for nothing.

The Waves killed her family, or so she thought. Shannon is on her own. Running. Always running from the others. When she is running away from a other, she trips and falls into a bush, little did she know that falling into that bush saved her life. No that is not Cassie in the picture. Just saying, that is the main character Shannon.
