*FIRST DRAFT, ONGOING* Peyton Thoms joins TSHigh's theater club. In a couple of seconds of gossip, she is now considered part of the dorks, in the eyes of the other students of her school... Great. Her hopes of having a hot senior boyfriend are being tossed right out of the window and Peyton is getting more and more desperate to be loved by literally anyone. When Carla, the "leader" of the theater family gets her heart broken, no, not just broken, but stomped on by a thousand elephants (as she described) by a sophomore whilst she is a senior, every member comforts the poor girl, including Peyton, still the young girl can't help but wonder what 15 year old can break a 17 years old's heart like that. Must be a real hottie... So when, in a truth or dare game she plays with her dorky friends, they give her a dare to ask out renowned player Stephen, Peyton doesn't need much convincing (well she still needs a little push)... But after some teasing and messing with him, a bond forms around the lie that is Peyton and Stephen. But it was a dare, there was no future attached to it. So... Virgil moved to New York to try and move past his old demons that had been causing him to struggle in life since he was thirteen. The problem is, he's got limited money, and being new in town means he's got no friends and certainly no family to turn to for help. However, he happens to catch a lucky break by getting a job as a technician for a musical. The anxious young man wasn't expecting to fall in love with the Broadway star playing the lead though. This book is completed.

Prince George, BC. 1999. A brilliant social worker, poet, playwright, and theatre activist named Andrew Burton decides to start a youth group based around theatre. It started as a way to get kids off the streets, get them invested in something that made them feel involved. The first play this group of youth put on was at Art Space, a performance space above a beloved local bookstore. A poster was created for the event with local art. It read: A Headlines Theatre Power Play CASEY Community Against Sexual Exploitation of Youth September 16, 17, 18 at 8pm It was a success. The group found their name all by themselves. They called themselves Street Spirits. Street Spirits practice a variety of theatre forms, mainly using a style of theatre called Theatre of the Oppressed, created by Brazilian theatre master Augusto Boal. The idea is to create a play with no happy ending, only to invite the audience to the stage to change the dreary outcome and make it better - to create change. Street Spirits also weave in a variety of other techniques by Boal, a couple favorites of many being Cop in the Head, and Rainbow of Desire. Street Spirits tackle a variety of different and difficult topics, some of which include drug use, sexual exploitation, bullying and harassment, domestic violence, and homophobia. In this volume are ramblings from a former Street Spirits member, in various forms and styles of writing mediums. During this member's time with Street Spirits, writing became a very strong part of their identity and self discovery, and how they perceived the world around them. When Zelda tries out for the role of Juliet in the school's Romeo and Juliet, she finds that a large number of girls deign to be Juliet. But when Link, Zelda's crush, lands the role of Romeo, Zelda is stuck as a side character. Link is why so many girls -a few guys too, of course- joined the theatre club this year. But then you've got Zelda. Who is truly loyal to theatre, and just found her luck when Link joined. Although, the girls who are fighting hard for Link have gotten a little annoying, taking her role without real talent. "Everyone gets a turn to play a major role, Zelda. You are the one who earned the role, but the counselor told me I can't give another lead to you until everybody's had one."
