A new drama teacher stages the Broadway musical Hadestown, leading to new and old romances and strong friendships among the students.

When Zelda tries out for the role of Juliet in the school's Romeo and Juliet, she finds that a large number of girls deign to be Juliet. But when Link, Zelda's crush, lands the role of Romeo, Zelda is stuck as a side character. Link is why so many girls -a few guys too, of course- joined the theatre club this year. But then you've got Zelda. Who is truly loyal to theatre, and just found her luck when Link joined. Although, the girls who are fighting hard for Link have gotten a little annoying, taking her role without real talent. "Everyone gets a turn to play a major role, Zelda. You are the one who earned the role, but the counselor told me I can't give another lead to you until everybody's had one."

Masaki Hanano, a prestigious and talented young man is well known in the music world. He has composed and conducted some of the most heart-wrenching classical pieces, with his orchestra at the Akanezawa theatre. He comes from the famous Hanano family, who is known for their musical background, and his main job is to bring honor to the Hanano name. Mio Azusaki is a shy, introverted and quiet young lady, who has a passion for rock music and is exceptionally talented at the electric guitar, alongside living in her family Chinese restaurant. She anonymously played for idols, ads and all the sorts. Her aim in the Akanezawa theatre is to grow as a rockstar and maybe achieve her dream of becoming famous. After meeting each other, they have created a little rivalry between musicians. The two dismiss each other's music and end up making fun of each other. The other members watch with excited eyes, sensing their slow feelings for each other. Can a rockstar and a classical composer get along...?

Rebecca was just a regular Sophomore ready to explore more of what high school and Netflix had to offer. Joseph was just a regular Senior wanting to end his high school career with yet another new love, but this time an actual romance with a human and not with his anime. Both are best friends that agree to help each other find love in others and explore the feelings that overcome them when the butterflies arise. Others help them along the way of this journey; however, life sucks and then you die. Wait 'till you see their hopes and hearts get torn from their chest cavities! Not literally of course, though that would make a cooler story.

How does one cope when someone close to them is gone? Some will do their best to move on, while others will hold on to the hope that they'll be back on their life. Occasionally, other people will fight until the end to have them back. True love means you have to fight for them, right? But not everyone has the determination to keep on fighting. I am one of those people who got tired of fighting and ended up hoping they'll be back. I got tired of looking for her, the only thing left I could do is to write and create a play in hopes that she'll find her way back to me. Unfortunately, all I could write is filled with tragic endings since I don't have a glimpse of a happy ending. Upon completing his senior year at the University of Minnesota, Aaron J. Holt put his theatrical skills to the test. Tasked with creating his own character development method, Aaron drew from various methods. Then, to prove that it worked, he had to perform five monologues from different genres, applying the method to each of the characters he was portraying.
