When the group's leader, Frannie, discovers a way for the group to make their favorite mascot horror media real, she builds a technological machine that will allow the group to turn people into characters from their favorite mascot horror media. Maxwell Heathers is the first of the group to try out Frannie's new invention, aiming to turn 9 unlucky people into the children from The Backwards House.
