The people of Panem...the true people of Panem, those who live in the districts, know it's best not to think about death. Luck was such a commodity that doing anything to sway the pendulum of fate invited horrors unlike anything you could imagine. Most, and by most I mean those between the ages of twelve and eighteen, have had many experiences to cloud their anxious minds with. As the days click closer to the 75th Games, the Quarter Quell if you will, the imaginations of those...well, kids...began to grow ever present. I believed I'd never leave that arena alive. Luck was so hard to come by, the odds never quite rolled like you think they should. I left that arena alive...somehow. By the skin of my teeth. I don't think the odds are gonna let that happen again. Perhaps going out with a bang, my hands and feet kicking and waving...giving the people their show...will be my goal this year.

Valerie Keegan was seventeen when her name slipped from the glass bowl on Reaping Day. She wasn't a fighter, but no one could have guessed she was afraid. She kept her head high and her eyes fixed on the only prize that mattered: staying alive.

A series of shorter stories about background characters and ideas people never think of. I take requests and I wont be writing anything about the main characters since thats been done to death. That doesn't mean they won't show up as cameo characters though :-)

And, quiet and sweet as she is, she wouldn't tell him something that wasn't true. But that doesn't mean she isn't telling him the whole truth. And that's all Finn wants, to know the truth about his dad, and his mom, too. Why she is the way she is, suffering from PTSD. Finnick Odair, aged 14, thrust into the Hunger Games, with a slim chance of survival. From District 4, he's been trained for the games since he could walk, but no one as young as him had won the Games before. Ever. But there's a first time for everything, right? Alternating chapters between Finnigan and Finnick, follow both boys in their journeys to self discovery and survival. **THIS STORY WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR THE HUNGER GAMES, CATCHING FIRE, AND MOCKINGJAY**

"what?" I say turning to my left so she can repeat herself. "Can I ask you something?" she says staring at the pollen floating past the window, she pauses for a beat, "Can you tell me about what happened to you?" I take a drink, and sigh. I have to take a second to clear my throat before I respond. "Like my games?"

The war is over, but the battle is still being fought. The Dark Days of Panem are over but nothing is looking brighter. The Capitol has just squelched the fires of the rebellion and ended the war. President Dane has announced the Hunger Games; his solution to keeping the districts in line and Aldera Clearwater is District 11's tribute. She must travel to the Capitol with 23 other inexperienced tributes to train for their fight to the death in The First Annual Hunger Games. *The idea of the Hunger Games belongs to Suzanne Collins, but all characters, plots, and other attributes of this story belong to me.*

Sequel to 'Words Cut Deeper Than Knives' After winning the games you would think they could just let you live in peace. That's what we are told, but that's a lie. If Snow wants you dead he will do whatever it takes to kill you. He will go to great lengths to get what he wants. He revels in others pain. We're going to make him pay. No matter how long it takes we will win. We will beat him once and for all. For Rue and her mockingjay song. I'll show Katniss she gave her pin to the right girl.
