I had to write a "catcher in the rye" fanfic for school so I decided I might as well post it here This is a fanfic from the point of view of 13 year old Holden and how he dealt with the death of his brother

For my English project, I have to write poetry representing Holden Caulfield from The Catcher In The Rye. So here we go!

She's favorite, rush, like his father. Along the way she will met a guy. At ang taong iyon ang magiging dahilan kung bakit ayaw niya nang magmadali. Dahil kung hihilingin niya bumilis ang oras, mawawala sa kaniya ang taong mahal niya. Dahil sa pagbilis ng oras, alam niyang iiwan na siya nito. Could she wish that time needs to slowly tick or never wish of anything?

This is a dialogue that I had to make for school and everyone who read it loved it, so I thought I would share it here. I took two characters that I love and put them in the perspective of what I think would be their opinions on the philosophic question, that he who knows right, does right. With the use of the Socratic method, Holden Caulfield ("The Catcher in the Rye" by J.D Salinger) and Atticus Finch ("To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee) debate if that statement is really true. It takes place in court if Holden ever got caught "sleeping" with the prostitute in The Catcher in the Rye. The timeline is not super precise but the goal was that it was around the same time as Harper Lee's second novel, "Go Set a Watchman," and after "Catcher in the Rye."

This is a poem I written based off of my favorite book of all time! This is Holden Caulfield feeling terrible for his little sister, Pheobe, because of how innocent she is compared to the "phonies" he has met throughout his life. I used a carousel for the cover because at the end, Pheobe rides the carousel; Holden thinks about how she is growing up soon. The title is called Catcher in the Rye because Holden wants to catch little children off the cliff. It's a motif in the book meaning that he is keeping them from growing up and changing. This book has changed my life. It has really shaped me into a better person. It has also inspired me to read more and to become an English teacher. You should definitely read it. Yes, this book has a lot of profanity and drug use, but it is worth reading.The writing and message is just so beautiful. I cried at the end of the book. It's just so amazing!!!!

Kid in high school deals with life.
